A local favorite, Boston's DIANE BLUE has the "whole package" -- she is a strong vocalist, skillful harmonica player and a crowd-pleasing entertainer. Voted "Outstanding Female Singer" in The Blues Audience 2011 Readers' Poll, Ms. Blue is a soulful and sassy performer with a strong, confident attack and energetic delivery, serving up her own spin on soul, blues and R&B. Ms. Blue won the 2010 Massachusetts Blues Challenge, earning the honor of competing at the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. She was nominated "Best Blues/R&B Act" and "Best Female Vocalist in 2007 by the Providence Phoenix and also nominated "Best Local Blues Act" by Motif Magazine in 2007.

Ms. Diane Blue has played harmonica and/or sung with guitarist extraordinaire, Ronnie Earl, as well as international performers Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson (former sideman for Muddy Waters), Big Jack Johnson (of Clarksdale, Mississippi) and Irma Thomas (the Soul Queen of New Orleans).

Following the release of their newest CD ‘Xpression’ last year, the Nate Aronow Nextet will be doing an energetic and varied show of honkin’ originals and a few classic covers. Contemporary Jazz, Latin, R&B, Trance and Fusion -- both vocal and instrumental tunes with some unexpected turns, and a bit of humor and touch of attitude in the mix. The Nextet sports some of Boston’s hottest jazz and funk players: Nate on keyboards and vocals, Steve Lamb on guitar, Steve Cardoza on bass, Oscar Arocha on drums, and Doug Sondak on sax. And no other band but the Nextet does “Bikin’ the Bike”!

Composer and Guitarist Claudio Ragazzi has put together a unique and exciting quartet featuring some of the best jazz performers from Argentina and Uruguay. Presenting their original blend of Latin Jazz with Tangos, Milongas and folk rhythms from South America with Nando Michelin on the piano, Fernando Huergo bass, Franco Pinna on the drums and Claudio Ragazzi on guitars this amazing quartet performs original compositions as well as arrangements from Piazzolla, Gismonti, Troilo, Legizamón and others.

The Boston New Music Initiative, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to maintaining an international network of composers, performers, conductors, directors, and champions of music in order to generate new music concerts, compositions, collaborations, and commissions. Incorporated in 2010, the organization aims to advance the careers of its members in the field of new music by serving as a resource for networking, commissioning, collaboration, and programming.

Somerville-based singer Celia Slatterys original music weaves elements of jazz, pop and folk/rock with perceptive lyrics inspired by artists like Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. The songs touch upon broad-ranging themes including friendship and finding hope in troubled times. Celia also covers music by songwriters ranging from George Gershwin to Adele. In performance, she provides context for the songs with stories and humor. Celia will be joined for this show by members of her voice studio, TBA.
