Itchy Feet plays an eclectic mix of straight-ahead jazz and hard-driving swing. Formed in 2009, the band is a nonet with six horns, keys, bass and drums. The band members are among Greater Boston's busiest musicians, arrangers, and educators.

The band's repertoire spans several jazz eras, incorporating a mix of styles from swing to modern jazz. Many arrangements were adapted from those of the big bands of Count Basie, Stan Kenton, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman and others.

Original compositions and arrangements are written by band members David Johnson and Brian Lewis.

Johnson puts a new spin on classics written by legendary jazzmen, including Miles Davis and John Coltrane, as well as his own original compositions. Lewis further expands the band's depth with his own arrangements and original compositions, providing an entirely different spectrum of captivating tonalities.

Japanese pianist and composer Kozue Kuriyama releases her first album at Ryles, featuring her international quartet, with special guests. An intricately woven fusion of jazz, latin, funk, pop, and Japanese styles makes this an album anyone can enjoy.

A versatile pianist and composer, Kozue Kuriyama begun playing piano at the age of three. Studied classical music at Tokyo College of Music(2009), and jazz performance and composition at Berklee College of Music (2011). She studied with legendary musicians, including Nando Michelin, Leo Blanco, Ross Ramsay, Winston Maccow, David Fiuczynski and Victor Mendoza. She received a number of scholarship awards, including the Classical Performance Award in 2010 and the MBNA Professional Music Award in 2011 and several of her compositions were presented at various showcase concerts held at the Berklee Performance Center in 2011.

Agachiko is a band populated by veteran musicians who have pared their playing down to the essentials, all energy focused on bringing the emotional reality of the songs to life. Featuring Gabrielle's gripping, soulful and technically spot-on voice and presence, the band sports the unique horn section of flute, trumpet and tenor sax, along with classic hollow-body jazz guitar, acoustic bass and drums. The sound can be understated and delicate, bluesy and brash, or full and lush.

Agachiko's repertoire ranges from originals to Nina Simone-related material, classic torch songs and even show tunes given an earthy reality by Gabrielle's no-nonsense singing. Arrangements are written by Grammy nominated arranger Russ Gershon of the Either/Orchestra, who provides tenor sax here, and by Ken Field of the critically acclaimed Revolutionary Snake Ensemble, who joins the band on flute.

Boston's DIANE BLUE has the whole package  she is a strong vocalist, skillful harmonica player and a crowd pleasing entertainer. After Little Joe Cook's retirement from the Cantab Lounge in Central Square, Ms. Blue became his successor as the leader of the Friday and Saturday Dance Party nights at the Cantab, performing regularly with members of his long-time band, The Thrillers.

Ms. Blue won the 2010 Massachusetts Blues Challenge, earning the honor of competing at the 2011 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. She was nominated for "Best Female Singer" in the 2010 Blues Audience Readers Poll, "Best Blues/R&B Act" and "Best Female Vocalist in 2007 by the Providence Phoenix and also nominated "Best Local Blues Act" by Motif Magazine in 2007.

Ms. Diane Blue has played harmonica and/or sung with guitarist extraordinaire, Ronnie Earl, as well as international performers Luther Guitar Jr. Johnson (former sideman for Muddy Waters), Big Jack Johnson (of Clarksdale, Mississippi) and Irma Thomas (the Soul Queen of New Orleans). Christiane is an award-winning songwriter (the USA Songwriting Competition, SESAC, The John Lennon Songwriting contest), and was honored by Berklee for her outstanding contribution to international goodwill and understanding for a multi-national peace concert she produced in the aftermath of 9/11. She is currently on the faculty of Berklee College of Music, as an Assistant Professor in Voice, Ensemble and Songwriting. She is the founder and leader of the Berklee Annual Middle Eastern Festival, and actively continues her work of bringing awareness and Positive Social Change through music and the arts.
Christiane's upcoming release, "Eastern Tapestries", celebrates the different vocal traditions of the Middle East, the Balkans and Central Asia, and ranges from traditional renditions to in the moment contemporary interpretations and improvisations. It will be launched this fall and performed with ZilZALA and many special guests.
